We will offer you a chance to get your 2-year CSCS Green Labourer Card, Asbestos Awareness, First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Safety certificates, help and advice to overcome any barriers you have and much more to help you find work

Open to anyone over 16 years and unemployed

Individuals will be required to attend:

24 days at Abbey Access Training from 9.30am – 4.00pm
Followed by ongoing support sessions until employment secured

Programme content

Week 1

Day 1 – Induction and Enrolment, Initial Assessments, File setup with memory sticks, CSCS Practice
Day 2 – CV Lessons and produce/update CV, job search
Day 3 – Cover and Speculative letters, job search
Day 4 – Application forms, CSCS practice and job search
Day 5 – Asbestos Awareness, CSCS practice, work on CV and Spec letter and intensive job search

Week 2/3

Practical Skills Training including bricklaying and block paving as well as workshops with local companies and site visits.

Week 4

Day 10 – First Aid Training
Day 11 – Site Safety Awareness
Day 12 – Manual Handling, Job Search/CSCS practice and Interviews with employers
Day 13 – Fire Safety course, CSCS practice, work on CV/Spec letter, intensive job search and Construction event at the Showground

Week 5

Continue online practice and CSCS training.

Week 6

CSCS practice, intensive job search and CV and Spec letter updates
CSCS practice, intensive job search and CV and Spec letter updates
Day 24 – CSCS Tests, mock interviews, job search consolidation and final reviews

After this, participants will be offered extended support to gain employment.
